Burgundy Restaurant
Burgundy restaurant is a favourite among locals and tourists, and is rate as one of the best eateries in Hermanus. It enjoys a prime location in the village square overlooking the sea, and has been in operation for years. The food is great, and the hospitality even better. Burgundy is a seaside favourite that sees many patrons staying a while, and returning time and again! This is a fantastic spot for whale watching and is only a few metres away from the historic old harbour. A local gem where seafood and cocktails are the order of the day.
Chard'd Grill
Char’d Grill and Wine Bar is a quirky, steam punk themed restaurant serving fine cuisine and an array of craft gins, rums and tequilas. Interiors are comfortable booths, while a glass cabinet provides a home for fine cuts of meat. Diners can select their own cut of meat and pair it with a homemade sauce. Tequila tasting, rum tasting, and gin tasting is also on the menu. Waiters wear leather aprons and deliver dishes of superlative quality, while recombining the perfect wine to pair with dinner. Char’d is fun, sensational, and one of the area’s top quality restaurants.
Fick's Restaurant
This newly built outdoor cocktail cafe is built snugly around the beautiful Fick’s tidal pool. It’s only open for a certain part of the year, but is now earmarked as the place to go for sundowners, pinchos (small meals), and open-air seaside vibes. As well as being one of Hermanus’s most Instagrammable destinations, Fick’s restaurant’s mouthwatering northern Spain cuisine is remarkable. Sit outside around the tidal pool that flows into the ocean while sipping on a Pina colada and snacking on flammkuchen and chimichurri fillet. Get there early - there are no reservations!
La Pentola
Creative chef Shane Sauvage spearheads the kitchen at La Pentola, a gourmet restaurant offering views over Walker Bay. Situated outside the main drag on the way to Grotto Beach, Lizette’s Kitchen oozes class and sophistication. Lizette’s is located inside a heritage farmhouse building and comprises several dining areas, with trendy bar area on site. A small coffee bar serving Vietnamese coffee and Truth coffee is popular with locals and holiday makers. Lizette’s also doubles as a fantastic wedding and birthday party venue.
Pear Tree
The Pear Tree bistro is situated in the hub of Hermanus on the piazza and offers a modern bistro feel with flavourful cuisine.
