Burgundy Restaurant

Our favourite, definitely recommended and rated as one of the best in Hermanus on Tripadvisor too. Most people visiting Burgundy Restaurant on the very edge of the bay and only a few metres away from Hermanus’s historic old harbour, always come back. Once you visit, which we hope you will do soon, you might well return because here you will be greeted by not only the warm smiles of our staff and great food, but quite possibly, the view of whales splashing nearby.

Chard'd Grill

CHAR’D Grill and Wine Bar is a quirky, steam punk themed Restaurant serving fabulous cuts of meat, great selection of wines and a Ginologist Gin Bar serving Gin inspired cocktails.

La Pentola

La Pentola Hermanus with a panoramic view of the Walker Bay area, specializes in international cuisine with South African flavours.

Diners are treated to South African executive chef Shane Sauvage’s own brand of fusion cuisine with spectacular view of the world heritage site Walker Bay, the birthing ground of the Southern Right whales.

Since 1995 La Pentola has been a leader on the South African culinary frontier. Now in Hermanus the kitchen offers fresh seafood caught daily, mature prime cuts of beef, exotic game dishes for the adventurous, exciting vegetarian dishes, light menu options and salads for lunch time and a decadent range of in house desserts.

The Fisherman's Cottage

The Fisherman’s Cottage is a historical building which was converted into a small restaurant in 1976. The building’s history adds to the relaxed atmosphere,creating a unique dining experience.

Their menu offers a selection of simple dishes which reflect our coastline’s rich variety of seafood. A few delicious meat and vegetarian options are also available.

LB Bistro on the Bay.

Lemon Butta Seafood Bistro specialize in seafood and freshly caught fish dishes, ranging from tuna and filleted salmon to deliciously tender calamari and mussels. They have a lovely selection of hand-picked wines specifically sourced to best compliment their food.

Pear Tree

Pear Tree was established in May 2015 opening its doors in July 2015 after major renovations took place. The name originated from the owner Petri Hendriksz, who worked in the UK for a few years. His colleagues called him Pear Tree as they could not pronounce his first name – hence Pear Tree Bistro was born. Pear Tree, situated on the Piazza of Hermanus, offers a modern bistro feel with creative and tasteful dishes offering a scenic view with outside seating. This intimate bistro offers a relaxed and tranquil atmosphere making you at home. Local produce, Local Beers and Local Wines.

The Tasting Room - Stanford

The tasting room is a wonderful breakfast and lunch venue, popular with locals and visitors alike.

A renovated original farm cottage is the setting for the charming tasting and bar area, with views over a dam to the Stanford valley beyond. 

The full range of Estate wines are available for tasting and sales. The chalkboard menu changes daily and always offers an interesting variety of options. Aside from the hot kitchen, there is also a fairly extensive mezze/tapas menu to pick and choose from. The kitchen uses local organic and free-range products wherever possible, as we believe that it is the quality of the ingredients which truly make a meal memorable.

The tasting room is child friendly and a lovely place to spend time with the whole family.  There is a sandpit, trampoline and jungle gym, as well as a number of small boats which can be paddled around on the dam.

Overlooking the expansive bay, the Just Pure Bistro is uniquely positioned to offer you an uninterrupted, exceptional view. Combined with the finest, freshest ingredients and innovative recipes created in their kitchen, they offer a memorable experience.

The Bistro is a daytime eatery serving breakfasts, lunch and all day fare and now serving dinner from Wednesday to Saturday evenings, September to April. The dinner menu offers a delicious selection of interesting and innovative dishes based on what is seasonal and available.
