The Ultimate Southern Africa Grand Tour
Introduction
This journey is a definitive exploration of Southern Africa’s most compelling landscapes. It moves from the dynamic energy of Cape Town and the marine-rich Whale Coast to the untamed wilderness of the Sabi Sand and the immense power of Victoria Falls. This expedition combines urban elegance, dramatic coastal beauty, premier wildlife viewing, and one of the world’s greatest natural phenomena into a single, seamless adventure.
Days 1 to 5: Victoria & Alfred Hotel, Cape Town
Your expedition begins upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, where a representative will greet you for your private transfer to the Victoria and Alfred Hotel. You will spend four nights at this landmark hotel, located at the heart of the V&A Waterfront. Your time in the city is dedicated to discovery. A full-day private tour of the Cape Peninsula reveals the rugged coastline down to its southern point. A separate full-day city tour uncovers the historical and cultural core of the “Mother City,” culminating with an ascent of the iconic Table Mountain.
Days 5 to 8: Hermanus Boutique Guest House, Hermanus
After breakfast, a private road transfer will convey you along the scenic coastal route to Hermanus. You will check into an intimate boutique guesthouse for a three-night stay. The main event of your time in this seaside town is a full-day whale watching excursion, which provides close encounters with Southern Right Whales during their yearly migration (seasonal). The rest of your time is free to explore the town’s cliff paths, galleries, and excellent restaurants.
Days 8 to 11 – Umkumbe Safari Lodge, Sabi Sand Game Reserve
You will be privately transferred from Hermanus back to Cape Town International Airport for a scheduled flight to Skukuza Airport, the entry point to the Sabi Sand. Upon landing, you will be met and driven to Umkumbe Safari Lodge for a three-night stay. Your days here will follow the rhythms of the wild, with morning and evening game drives in open 4×4 vehicles led by expert guides and trackers. This region is famous for its high concentration of predators, especially leopards, ensuring an outstanding wildlife viewing experience.
Days 11 to 13: Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, Zimbabwe
After a final morning game drive and breakfast, you will be transferred by road to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport for your flight to Victoria Falls. On arrival, a transfer will be ready to take you to the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge for your two-night package stay. The lodge is situated on a plateau overlooking a waterhole, presenting a unique chance to view game from your room. Your time here allows for exploring the spectacular Victoria Falls and taking part in the area’s many adventure activities.
Days 13: Departure
Following a final breakfast overlooking the African bush, you will be transferred to Victoria Falls International Airport. Here, you will connect with your onward international flight. End of Services and Bon Voyage.
